A lifelong Minnesotan, Dan was born in St. Paul and was raised during his school years in Rochester, Minnesota.  After high school graduation in 1972 he attended Bethel College pursuing a variety of interests academically while playing four seasons of Bethel football.  He graduated in 1981 with a “reluctant” degree in history and minors in music and philosophy.  Then followed some part-time study at Bethel Theological Seminary.

In 1990, Dan accepted a pastoral call to minister in small town rural Minnesota and served two congregations in the south central and north central parts of the state.  From 1999 to 2004 he served as the pastor of an inner-city mission church in South Minneapolis.

His involvement with the Christian Deer Hunters Association® began in 1997 and he has been a member of the Executive Board since 1999 as Executive Outreach Chaplain.  He enjoys being able to encourage and challenge men and women to make creative and effective use of Christian Deer Hunters Association® literature as witness tools.  It’s Dan’s desire that Jesus Christ be proclaimed and made known so that current believers are built up in faith and unbelievers come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Dan and his wife, Debbie, have been married since 1974.  They have raised four children and, as of 11/5/2004, have a beautiful granddaughter.
